Jewell Dowd

NEW MADRID -- Jewell Dowd died June 19, 2007, at her daughter's home in Cordova, Tenn.

The daughter of the late Boyd and Katie Prewitt, she was a member of the Methodist Church of New Madrid.

She was married for 58 years to J.D.. Dowd, who preceded her in death in September 2000.

Survivors include: two daughters, Judy Dowd of Benton and Sue Bonds of Cordova; one son-in-law, Rondal Bonds; one sister, Helen Grogan of Winter Haven, Fla.; two grandchildren, Melisa Williams and Christopher Bonds, both of Cordova; three great-grandchildren, Luke Williams, Dalton Bonds and Lexi Bonds; and one niece, Pat Jones, of Lakeland, Fla.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid.
