SIKESTON -- Corra Mae Edwards, 59, died at 8 p.m. June 17, 2007, at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis following a brief illness.
Born June 4, 1948, in Dardanelle, Ark., daughter of the late George Edward and Florence Elizabeth Lewis McDonnold, she had worked for 12 years at the Sikeston Rescue Mission. She had previously worked at Calvary Temple Daycare in Sikeston. At the time of her death, she was an associate minister of the House of Prayer General Baptist Church.
On March 18, 1976, at Sapupla, Okla., she married John D. "J.D." Edwards who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Lisa Edwards of Bloomfield; three brothers, Bill McDonnold of Morehouse, David McDonnold of Reno, Nev., and Kent McDonnold of Whittier, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Rachael Bell and Hanna Bell of Bloomfield.
Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Millie Burns, pastor of the House of Prayer in Sikeston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Rickey Richman, Harold Johnson, Bill McDonnold, Kent McDonnold, Gerald Williams and Michael McDonnold.
