ST. LOUIS -- Evadna "Vad" Black, 99, formerly of Dexter, died June 16, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis.
Born March 6, 1908, daughter of the late Miner Dickirson and Loda Grimes Dickirson, she was a member of the Ladue Chapel Church, co-founder and past president of Dexter National Bank, and a member of the P.E.O., St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary and Campbell House in St. Louis.
In September 1934, she married Creal Black who preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1968.
Also preceding her in death were one brother, Howard Dickirson; and three sisters, Mary Jeffress, Mildred Gologoly and Eva Mercier.
Survivors include: two nephews, Michael Jeffress of Madison, Ala., and Hugh Gologoly of Overland Park, Kan.; and three nieces, Sara Dickirson Dotson of Memphis, Tenn., and Mary Beuhler and Debbie Brand of Overland Park.
Graveside services were held this morning at the Sikeston City Cemetery with Dr. Ben Ellis officiating.
Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter was in charge of arrangements.
