DEXTER - Katherine T. Midkiff, 83, died at 7 p.m. May 7, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born May 24, 1923, in Kennett, to the late Thomas Pinkney and Donnie Dot Haynes Davis, she was a housewife and homemaker and a member of the Bell City General Baptist Church.
On June 1, 1937, in Kennett, she married George Thomas Midkiff, who preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1986.
One son, Glenn Midkiff; one daughter, Bonnie Maddox; four sisters; and two half brothers also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Robert Midkiff of Dexter; six daughters, Kay Hughes of Advance, Margie Morgan of Dexter, Donna Ray, Melinda Midkiff and Mary Buckley of Sikeston and Teresa Grisham of Bell City; and 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Clete Cox of Dexter.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance. The Rev. Dean Williams, pastor of the New Bethel Church in Dexter, will officiate.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: David Maddox, Chad Maddox, Scott Maddox, Rick Maddox, Brad Maddox, Steve Hughes, Kevin Hughes and Zachary Midkiff.
