BENTON -- The names of five Scott County residents who were arrested on drug charges over the weekend have been released.
Following a two-month investigation, Steven Kolwyck, 46, of Oran was charged with class A felony of trafficking in the first degree, class B felony of attempting to manufacture a controlled substance, class C felony of possession of a controlled substance and class C felony of possession of marijuana, according to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter. Bond was set at $100,000, and he remains in Scott County Jail at this time.
A 17-year-old residing at the same address as Kolwyck was arrested for class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana and released from Scott County Jail pending formal charges.
Thomas Knighten, 18, of Sikeston was also charged with the class A misdemeanor of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Austin Corbin, 21, of Sikeston was arrested following a vehicle stop late Friday for the class A misdemeanors of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was later released on a court summons.
Walter also reported two Oran residents, Eric and Nikki Russell, were arrested late Sunday following the service of a search warrant. They were charged with class A misdemeanors of possession of marijuana, use of drug paraphernalia and felony endangering the welfare of a child. Bond was set a $2,500 bond, and they bonded out.
