SPRINGFIELD -- An Oran woman has been named Miss Missouri USA.
Amber Seyer earned the tiara as Miss Missouri USA 2007 Saturday night in Springfield while Lauren Petersen became Miss Missouri Teen USA 2007.
The 20-year-old Seyer is an Oran native who entered the pageant as "Miss Scott County USA." She is a junior at Lindenwood University studying International Management and Marketing. In addition to her crown, Seyer earned Special Recognition in the Interview portion of the judging, as well as winning the title of Miss Congeniality. Her parents are Sherry and Tom Seyer, who live in Oran .
Petersen is a 16-year-old sophomore at Farmington High School . She competed in the pageant as "Miss Francois County Teen USA." Petersen was also honored at this year's pageant for Special Achievement in the Evening Gown category. Her parents are Nancy and John Petersen, of Farmington.
The Miss Missouri USA and Miss Missouri Teen USA pageant was held this year at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts on the campus of Missouri State University . Miss USA 2004, Florissant native Shandi Finnessey, emceed the event.
The new title-holders were judged on their performance in three categories: Evening Gown; Swimsuit; and Personal Interview.
