AQUILLA -- B. Annette Gillespie, 72, died May 17, 2007, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born May 6, 1935, in Pocahontas, Ark., to Ruth Jennings DeJournett of Pocahontas and the late James Ross Higgonbotham, she had spent most of her life in the Bloomfield and Advance communities and was a member of the New Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Bell City.
On Sept. 23, 1950, she married Roy Virgil Jennings who preceded her in death on July 25, 1997. On Feb. 14, 1999, she married Bonnie Gillespie who survives of the home.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are: two daughters, Ruth Ann Bradshaw and Regina Schaefer of Dexter; one stepdaughter, Angie Barnfield of Bloomfield; one stepson, Dennis Gillespie of Franklin, Tenn.; three brothers, Darrell Higgonbotham and Tim DeJournett of Pocahontas and Melvin DeJournett of Jonesboro, Ark.; three sisters, Louise Crews of Granite City, Ill., Linda Gentry of Monticello, Ark., and Rita Speer of Paragould, Ark.; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Phyllis Ann, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Tim Hall will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
