CARUTHERSVILLE - A 6-year-old girl is hospitalized after being struck by a car while riding her bicycle.
At 3:52 p.m. Sunday, Caruthersville Police were called to the intersection of 12th and Adam streets. According to the police report, Aquayla Amerson of Caruthersville was riding her bicycle on 12th Street when she failed to stop at a stop sign. Aquayla's bicycle was struck in the intersection by a southbound vehicle driven by Ronald Shaw, 54, of Caruthersville.
The impact of the collision ejected the child from her bike, throwing approximately 14-feet from the point of impact.
The girl was treated at the scene then Air Evac to Laboner Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
