Bernice Burgess

PHARR, Texas -- Bernice Marlin Smiley Burgess, 84, formerly of Chaffee, Mo., died Nov. 26, 2006, in Pharr.

She was a longtime resident of Chaffee before moving to Pharr.

Her first husband, Richard Smiley, preceded her in death.

Survivors include: her husband, Maynard Burgess of the home; two children, Vicki Robinson of Arlington, Va., and Rick Smiley of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; one brother, Gerald, last name unavailable; four sisters, Margaret, Elsie, Betty and Marlene, last names unavailable; and four grandchildren and two great-

grandchildren.

Visitation is from 4:30 p.m. Saturday until time for a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
