PORTAGEVILLE - Jeanette Gammons, 91, died Dec. 2, 2006, at Portageville Nursing Center.
Born Oct. 20, 1915, at Portageville, to the late James and Lucinda Kimes Adams, she was a member of the Keenagers, GA camps and Sunday school teacher of the First Baptist Church in Portageville.
On Sept. 25, 1933, in Bokerton, she married Ernest "Cheese" Gammons, who preceded her in death on May 13, 1979.
Also preceding her in death were: six brothers, Elmer Adams, Muriel Adams, Clyde Adams, Leroy Adams, W.W. Cranford and Cletus Cranford; and two sisters, Clara Hawkins and Nora Adams.
Survivors include: two sons, Jimmy Dean Gammons of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Joe Dean Gammons of Sunlakes, Ariz.; five daughters, Martha Bell of Portageville, Patsy Hailey of Poplar Bluff, Saundra Goodheart of Cape Girardeau, Charlene Nelson of Jackson and Cindy McCrate of Cordova, Tenn.; one sister, Doris Wagner of Mesa, Ariz.; and 12 grandchildren, 19 great-
grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at 6 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Dr. Buck Morton will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
