Gregg Trankler and Mike Essner of the Caney Misfits Barbecue team from Oran prepare their ribs for judging Saturday at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo grounds. The Caney Misfits, along with 31 other teams from Illinois, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, braved the rain and cold temperatures to take part in the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce's 13th annual Redneck Barbecue. Caney Misfits placed 11th in the overall ratings.
