The Miner Volunteer Fire Department responded to a trailer fire which was reported at around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Firefighters arrived at South Creek Road at the end of County Road 541 near Miner to find the unoccupied, abandoned mobile home fully engulfed in flames, according to Randy Allen, chief of the Miner Volunteer Fire Department.

"It had been burning approximately 45 minutes before we got the call -- we were there four minutes after the call went out," Allen said. "It was a total loss."

Firefighters stayed at the scene for about two and a half hours and used about 3,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire, Allen said.

"No cause has been determined," he said. "It's under investigation by the fire marshal."
