EAST PRAIRIE -- Jerry Lee "Scrooge" Johnson, 60, died at 10:35 a.m. March 6, 2007, in the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born July 11, 1946, in Wyatt, son of the late Luther and Alma Marie Dyer Johnson, he lived all of his life in Mississippi County where he was a self-
employed contractor and a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church of Charleston.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Michael Wade and Tera Johnson of East Prairie; one daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Lindsay Cross of Sikeston; four brothers and one sister-in-law, Larry Johnson, Wayne Johnson and Ricky Johnson of East Prairie and Jimmy and Barbara Johnson of Sikeston; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary and Dennis Bard and Carolyn Scott of East Prairie and Shirley and Floyd Brown of Charleston; and three grandchildren.
Three brothers, Don Johnson, Bob Johnson and Roy Johnson, and one sister, Wanda Carter, preceded him in death.
Visitation is at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at the Elm Street Baptist Church in Charleston and will continue until time for services at 11 a.m. with Jon Archie officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Shawn Scott, Bill Aycock, Jerry Bolden, Dale Matney, Floyd Aters and Lindsay Cross.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Johnny Brown, Kelly Brown, Jonathan Brown, Gary Scott, Kevin Scott, Brian Bard, Wayne Johnson Jr. and Gary Adkisson.
