A Sikeston Department of Public Safety firefighter investigates for flames at a home at 106 Dorothy St. Saturday morning (top photo).

DPS responded to the fire at 9:47 a.m. and it was extinguished by 10:51 a.m.

The fire started in the laundry room due to an electrical short in the wall by a water heater.
