DEXTER -- Thomas Wayne Evans, 76, died Jan. 28, 2007, in the Golden Living Center at Malden.
Born Dec. 3, 1930, at Kennett, son of the late Jewell and Eva Crawford Evans, he was a former butcher for IGA and Kroger and food broker for Bean Patterson. He retired from Bud Shell Ford in Dexter and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter.
He was first married on Jan. 8, 1950, at Kennett, to Wanda Huskey who preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 1999.
On Sept. 8, 2002, at Dexter, he married Patricia Thornton Adair who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Gaylon Evans of Union City, Tenn.; one daughter, Ann Owens of Olathe, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Avis Murray of Folkston, Ga., and Naomi O'Connor of Velm, Wash.; one sister, Selena Garner of Dexter; and six grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one son, Danny Evans.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Avis Murray and Dr. Ron Wilcoxson will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
