Track and field standout

Jennifer Nicholson, a member of the Cleats of Fire Track Club, placed first in the discus throw with a distance of 93 feet, 6 inches, second in the high jump with a height of 4 feet, 4 inches and third in the shot put with a distance thrown of 33 feet, 10 inches.

The meet took place in Kirkwood, Mo.

The Cleats of Fire Track Club is an AAU sanctioned team based in Poplar Bluff.

Nicholson, an eighth grader at East Prairie Junior High School, is the 14-year-old daughter of Grayling and Gale Nicholson. For those interested in joining the track organization call coach Kevin Ellis at (573) 429-6453.
