JEFFERSON CITY -- After freshman Eli Jackson jumped his way to an all-state medal in the long jump on Friday, two other underclassmen stepped up their game on Saturday in the triple jump.
Sophomore Dominic Fondon repeated as an all-state performer in the triple jump with a leap of 44-feet, 9-inches to place fifth in the event. He placed sixth in last year's state meet.
Classmate Demetrious Jackson also received an all-state medal with an eighth place leap of 44-9 1/2.
Eli Jackson placed third in the long jump on Friday with a leap of 21-7 1/4.
The three athletes accumulated 11 team points for the Bulldogs.
Sikeston's district nemesis Potosi, defended its state championship with 63.75 points, defeating second place MICDS, which had 50 points.
On the girls side, Sikeston's 4 x 200 meter relay team placed eighth in the event with a time of 1:46.60 to achieve all-state status. The event was run by Chasman Herrion, Willa Triblett, Michel'le Flye and Lashawna Turner.
The team qualified for the finals after placing second in their heat on Friday.
