Born Dec. 5, 1941, at Dexter, son of the late Arthur Lee and Ruby Maze Vaughn, he was a retired farmer having worked for Aslin Farms of Bloomfield for several years. He attended St. Joe General Baptist Church at Idalia and was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam.
On Dec. 22, 1989, he married Maxine Sanders who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: five daughters, Tammy Martin, Susie, Dora Kay and Elizabeth Vaughn of Dexter and Renee Clark of Sikeston; two stepsons, Gordon Robinett and Doug Robinett of Bloomfield; six brothers, Bud Vaughn and Dale Vaughn of Bloomfield, Jerry Vaughn and Randy Vaughn of Dexter, Lee Vaughn of Iola, Kan., and Ronnie Vaughn of Holyrood, Kan.; four sisters, Betty Horn and Sharon Gaughan of Bloomfield, Rose Champion of Iola and Barbara Davis of Desoto; and five grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kevin; one brother, Gene; one sister, Diane Link; and four grandsons.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Chiles Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Dan Sitz will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
