RIDGWAY, Ill. - Marabeth Pfifer, 82, died April 7, 2007, in the Suncoast Medical Center, in Largo, Fla.
Born Aug. 10, 1924, in Matthews, Mo., to the late James William and Birdie Leach George, she worked at Jones Farm Store for many years as bookkeeper, and for Rides Transportation before retiring. She was an active member in the Women's Auxiliary of the Ridgway American Legion.
She was married to Clarence Dee Pfifer, who preceded her in death in 1987.
Two brothers, Harold George and William "Barney" George; and one sister, Jennie Belle Abrewczynski, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Cathleen Pfifer of Columbus, Miss., and Harold Dee and Joreen Pfifer of Largo, Fla.; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Lyndal Sork officiating.
Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery in Ridgway.
