Maggie Mitchem

MARSTON - Maggie Maudean Freeman Mitchem, 78, died at 10:10 p.m. April 9, 2007, at her home.

Born Sept. 17, 1928, in Navarro, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Alan and Lillian Blackburn Freeman.

Her husband, Pete Mitchem, preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Rusty Mitchem on April 3, 2005; one daughter, Christene Woodall on Dec. 28, 2006; two brothers, James Kaggs and Earl Kaggs; and one sister, Virginia Freeman.

Survivors include: two sons, Scott Mitchem of Malden and Douglas Mitchem of Marston; one daughter, Carolyn Brigley of Marston; six sisters, Dorothy Jenkins of New Madrid, Jody Gomez of the state of Texas, Bobbie Kellerhalls of Portage, Calif.; Barbara McElroy of the state of Georgia; Annette Carter of the state of Alabama and Patricia "Patsy" Freeman of the state of California; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is at 6 p.m. Thursday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Frank Townsend will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
