TOWNSEND, Tenn. -- Joseph Wayne Walters, 64, died March 23, 2007, at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville.
Born Nov. 24, 1942, in New Madrid, Mo., to Elsie Reva Rodgers Walters and the late Joseph Henry Walters, his family moved to Kennett, Mo., in 1950 where he attended Kennett Public Schools and graduated from Kennett High School in 1960. He also graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He moved his family to Apopka, Fla., in 1967 and he worked and retired from the Seminole County Department of Public Safety with the fire department. After retirement, he moved to Townsend.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Judith N. Walters of Townsend; four sons, Jon Michael "Mike" Walters of Riverside, N.J., Joseph Edward Walters of St. Cloud, Fla., and Jeffery Wayne Walters and James D. Wood of Apopka, Fla.; three daughters, Stephanie Lynn Mutchler of Gainesville, Ga., Michelle L. LaPeters of Lake Mary, Fla., and Heather A. Jenson of Oviedo, Fla.; one brother, Rodger Michael Walters of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; four sisters, Gloria Jean Evans of Kennett, Nancy Ann Smith and Rita Earline Walters of Cape Girardeau and Patricia D. Bobo of Lilbourn; and 17 grandchildren and two great-
