Speakout 1/19

Friday, January 19, 2007

I feel sorry for your mother to have to ask you to please call her. One day, you will be sorry that you didn't make that call. There are so many of us out here who wish we had the opportunity to pick up the phone and call our mothers and tell them how much we loved them and missed them. You are missing the boat girl.

The Sikeston City Council voted to raise the speed limit on South Ingram to Col. George Day Parkway from Ables Road from 30 to 35 miles per hour. Traffic Committee and DPS were against this due to the schools being in the area and also being primarily a residential area. This kind of ballot is the result of someone getting a ticket on this stretch of road and they requested the speed limit to be raised. Now today, on Saturday the 13th, on North Ingram near Lashmet there was a rollover accident. This has been a concern of all who live in this area because of the speeders. City Council should repeal the higher speed limit and think about the safety of the residents.

Michael Jensen's article in the Sunday paper is the most accurate one I have ever read that he wrote. You ask the question, Mike, here is your answer. Where is the reverend? He is hiding like the coward they are. They have no interest in seeing things get better because if they get better for the minority community, they are out of work. They are just trying to keep their job and to keep things stirred up.

A couple of weeks ago a lady called me about a little dog I have named Angel. I still have the dog. Would you please call me. You had told me that you had a dog that got burned up or something Iike that. Would you please call me so we can correspond with each other. I still have the little dog and I need to find her a home. I can't find your number so would you please give me a call at 380-8497.

Could we have an article, or more articles or something in the paper advising people that it is the Missouri law that when you are driving and your windshield wipers are going that your lights must be one. People completly ignore it. I hope your life is not lost because of it or mine. Thanks.
