EAST PRAIRIE -- Josie R. Yant, 83, died Jan. 20, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born July 5, 1923, in Searcy, Ark., daughter of the late Carroll Clayton and Claudie Maybelle Smith Castleberry, she was self-employed as a private duty nurse's aide and was a founding member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sikeston. She was a resident of East Prairie Nursing Center.
On Jan. 6, 1940, in Sikeston, she married Woodrow Wilson Yant who preceded her in death on May 20, 1974.
Also preceded her in death were one daughter, Esther Jean Rhymer; and seven brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include: one daughter, Donna Yant of East Prairie; one brother, Gerald E. Castleberry of Winston Salem, N.C.; one grandson and his wife, Kenneth and Christy Story of East Prairie; and two great-grandchildren, Blake Story and Baileigh Story of East Prairie.
Services were held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with the Rev. John Bouldrey of First Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Burial followed in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
