DEXTER --Robert Daniel "Rob" Watkins, 49, died Jan. 25, 2008, at the Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

Born Dec. 6, 1958, in Poplar Bluff, son of Marsh Watkins of Dexter and the late Bobbie Lucius Watkins, he had lived in Dexter most of his life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, where he served as a recovery diver, had worked on tug boats in New York Harbor, for Budget Mobile Homes, and for Harty Construction in Dexter.

Surviving are: his partner, Sherry Burnett of Dexter; his stepmother, Dixie Watkins of Dexter; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Brian Rogers of Dexter; one stepson, David Burnett of Dexter; one brother, Michael Watkins of Dexter; two stepbrothers, Joey Dodd and Brian Dodd; one stepsister, Kim Morgan; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Watkins, John Kevin Watkins and his twin, Richard T. Watkins.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday. Mike Bien of Dexter will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors conduced by the Navy and American Legion Post 59 of Dexter.
