PORTAGEVILLE -- David E. Butler, 65, died Jan. 26, 2008, at the Gideon Care Center.
Born Dec. 16, 1942, at Portageville, to Harold L. Butler Sr. of Portageville and the late Francis Downing Butler, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. A member of the Lilbourn VFW and the First Assembly of God Church in Portageville, he was employed by Noranda.
On Aug. 16, 1970, at Portageville, he married Mary Hollis who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, David L. Butler of Everett, Wash.; one daughter, Cheryl Jenkins of Chaffee; one brother, Bob Butler of Morley; two sisters, Lisa O'Neal of Houston and Judy Glasscock of Saratoga, Fla.; and two grandchildren, David Landon Butler and Ross Jenkins.
Visitation is scheduled at 6 p.m. today at the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Eugene Poole officiating.
Burial with full military rites will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
