CHARLESTON - Joe Willie Haynes, 77, died July 29, 2007, at his home.
Born Jan. 28, 1930, in Greenville, Miss., to the late Joy McCray and Susie Haynes, he was a lifelong resident of Missouri and had been employed with Jim Thurmond Farms for over 53 years.
He married Luvine "Tiny" Clark who preceded him in death.
Survivors include: seven sons and five daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Shirley Haynes of Kansas City, Ronnie Haynes, Joel and Jawanna Haynes and Tyrone and Angela Haynes of Bloomington, Ill., Otis and Patricia Haynes of Sikeston, Joe Willie Taylor of Cape Girardeau and Donnell and Priscilla Haynes of Charleston; six daughters and one son-in-law, Pothine Clark and Regina Haynes of Charleston, Charlotte Kay Johnson of Cairo, Ill., and Beverly Haynes, Lisa Haynes and Lanell and Elliott Turner of Sikeston; two brothers, Richard Haynes and Robert Haynes of Seattle; four sisters, Georgia Mae Gillespie, Rosemary Clark and Jettie Mae Haynes of Charleston and Betty Mae Betts of Kansas City; and 62 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home in Charleston. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bowden Center, 700 South Elm in Charleston, with the Rev. Wiley Reed officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
