JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Former Sikeston High School All-American Blake DeWitt has been on fire since joining the Jacksonville Suns in the Double-A Southern League.
In Thursday night's 14-4 victory over Huntsville, DeWitt went 3-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored while blasting his second home run since joining the Suns.
DeWitt is now batting .400 with nine RBIs in 12 games with Jacksonville.
DeWitt played 83 games in Advanced-A baseball with the San Bernardino 66ers before his promotion.
He batted .298 with eight home runs, 29 doubles, 48 runs and 46 RBIs for the 66ers.
Jacksonville is a minor league affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
DeWitt graduated from Sikeston Senior High School in 2004. He held seven Missouri high school records after completing his career for the Bulldogs.
