EAST PRAIRIE -- George William Edwards, 69, died Jan. 29, 2008, at his home.
Born July 17, 1938, in East Prairie, to the late Howard Orlin and Blanche Williams Edwards, he lived all of his life in Mississippi County where he was co-owner of Edwards Transportation and a member of First Church of God, both in East Prairie.
On Jan. 5, 1956, in Hernando, Miss., he married Lois Elizabeth Drummond who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Patty Edwards of East Prairie; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Ryan and Leslie Edwards of Murray, Ky.; and one great-grandson, Thurston Clark Edwards of Murray.
Two brother, two sisters, and one grandson, Colby Daniel Edwards, preceded him in death.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday with Mike Worrell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Billy Bard, Guy Byassee, Charles Marshall, Larry Thresher, Jerry Organ, Avery Hutcheson, Flynn Ray and Richard Gemeinhardt.
