DEXTER - Walter Earl Wise, 75, died May 18, 2007, in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter.
Born Sept. 16, 1931, at Bernie, son of the late Bart and Myrtle Merritt Wise, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a former truck driver with Midwest Contractors in West Chicago until his retirement in 1994, and attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter.
On Jan. 1, 1953, at Piggott, Ark., he married Celesta O. Morlan who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Michael E. Wise of Maple Park, Ill., and James W. Wise and Eddie Wise of St. Charles, Ill.; two daughters, Pamela Fairchild of Amherst, Wis., and Althea Ingrahm of the state of Kentucky; one brother, Ray Wise of the state of Washington; one sister, Opal Borders of Sikeston; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.
Burial with full military honors followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
