Cox takes first place in BassBuster tournament

LAKE BARKLEY, Ky. -- The Bootheel BassBusters held their second tournament of the year on May 6th on Lake Barkley out of the Devil's Elbow ramp.

Leven Cox won the tournament with a six fish limit weighing 14 lbs. 10 oz. and also took Big Bass honors with a 4 lb. 8 oz. largemouth.

Leon Miller was second with a six fish limit weighing 12 lbs. 12 oz. and John Bollinger took home third place honors with five fish weighing 12 lbs. 8 oz. John Bollinger also won the "Lucky Drawing."

The 22 contestants reported a great day on the water with the top finishers catching the majority of their fish on Chatterbaits, Rat-L-Traps, and Senkos.

Leven Cox leads in the Angler-of-the-Year race with 419 points. Kenny Dement is second with 331 points and Ty Garrett is third with 284 points.

The club travels to Kentucky Lake on May 20th for a tournament out of KenLake Marina.
