ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Betty Jean Johnson, 60, died July 3, 2006, in Orange Park following an extended illness.
Born March 16, 1946, in Matthews, Mo., daughter of the late Sam Tim and Margaret Elizabeth Lewis, she was of the Catholic belief. She was employed by the Jacksonville Naval Base and had worked at the naval base in Cuba while her husband was stationed there in the service.
She married Don Johnson who survives.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, John and Angie Johnson of Jacksonville; one brother, Kenneth Lewis of the state of Oklahoma; three sisters, Rita Los of the state of North Carolina and Cathy and Elaine Lewis of the state of Florida; and four grandchildren, Tyler Johnson, Derrick Johnson, Kateleen Johnson and Clay Johnson of Jacksonville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bruce Wayne Lewis, Mark Larken Lewis and Walter Ray Drury; and one sister, Mary Ann Lewis.
A memorial service was held July 8 in the Jacksonville Memory Garden.
