FREDERICKTOWN - Ethel Lynn Woodward, 94, formerly of Charleston, died Feb. 16, 2007, at ClaRu Deville Nursing Center in Fredericktown.
Born May 10, 1912, at Jackson, Tenn., daughter of the late Charlie and Arizona Jones Swinney, she lived most her life in Mississippi County. She retired from Brown Shoe Company in 1974 after 24 years of service. In 1985, she moved to Fredericktown, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was first married to Clarence M. Lynch, who preceded her in death in 1943. On March 3, 1973, she married Frank Woodward, who preceded her in death.
One son, John Dallas Lynch; three brothers, Leon Swinney, Charles "Mutt" Swinney and Chester Swinney; and three sisters, Flora Northern, Dell Brown and Ida Singleton also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Mary Lynch of Blodgett and Jim and Ann Lynch of Benton; one daughter and son-in-law, Alberta and Charles Adcock of Fredericktown; and seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Monday at Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown. The Rev. Tom Johnson officiated.
Burial followed in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Mike Gifford, Galen Stevens, Bob Smith, Logan Stevens, John Clark and Gary Lynch.
