ORAN -- Dorothy Halter, 80, died Feb. 2, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 27, 1926, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Seth and Mary Eaker Craft, she was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church and St. Ann Sodality at Oran, the Ladies Auxiliary of Cape Girardeau VFW Post No. 3838, and the KCettes of Oran Council No. 4311.
On Oct. 4, 1947, she married Paul "Junior" Halter who preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2000.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one grandson, Shane Halter; and one brother, Jack Craft.
Survivors include: one son, Tim Halter of Oran; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Shy of Oran; one brother, Robert Craft of Pocahontas; one sister, Virginia Feverston of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Chris Shy, Heather Eakin and Damon Shy of Oran; and seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Simmons-
Eakin, Chelsea Shy, Jacob Shy, Bradley Brooks, Krisman Eakin, Kaylee Eakin and Laney Shy.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran with parish prayers at 7 p.m. followed by KC prayers at 7:15 p.m.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church with the Rev. John Harth officiating.
Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran.
