MINER - Alice Marie Bridges, 93, formerly of Bertrand and Morley, died at 9:25 a.m. Feb. 16, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 2, 1914, at Bertrand, to the late R.L. and Lula May Tabor Skelton, she first lived in Bertrand and then in Morley for most of her life. She was a retired cashier from IGA Grocery Store and of the Baptist belief.
On Feb. 22, 1933, she married John Raymond Bridges, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1995.
Three brothers, two sisters and two granddaughters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, John R. Bridges Jr. of Sikeston and David A. Bridges of Memphis, Tenn.; five daughters, Mary Francys New of St. Peters, Kitty Jones of Oakville, Judy Stone of Ironton, Vicki Gier of Fenton and Shannon Brockschmidt of Affton; one sister, Vivian Hooper of Bertrand; and 12 grandchildren, 27 great-
grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Bill Meeks, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Mike New, John Light, Jay Stone, Eric Stone, Bryan Gier, Jessica Bridges, Sara Budde and Alicia Brent.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons-in-law: Jim Aubuchon, Jerry Dollins, Omar Hadi, John Brent and John Budde.
