CAPE GIRARDEAU - A New Madrid County man was sentenced to federal prison on felony drug charges.
Glen Allen Smith, 44, of New Madrid was sentenced to 188 months in prison on one felony count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in U.S. District Court Tuesday in an appearance before U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey.
Previously with his plea, Smith admitted that on July 30 agents of the SEMO Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at his residence in New Madrid. Located in the search was an amount of methamphetamine in eight individual bags, packaged in a manner consistent with drugs intended for street level distribution. Smith was present and agreed to speak with officers, indicating that he had received 19 ounces of methamphetamine for distribution over the past several months.
