CHARLESTON -- Elma Yvette Mitchell, 75, died Jan. 4, 2007. at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Aug. 25, 1931, in Providence, R.I., daughter of the late Clay William and Mary Leota Kirkindal Hudkins, she recently moved to Charleston after living most of her life in California. She had served as one of the WAVES for the U.S. Navy.
On Nov. 26, 1955, she married Bobby Keith Mitchell who preceded her in death on April 15, 1988.
One brother, David D. Hudkins; and one sister, Yvonne Masholi, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Clay Keith Mitchell of Miami; one daughter, Joy Bobette Rapp of Porterville, Calif.; one sister, Raydene Wilma Hopper of Charleston; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held with McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
