Men injured in knife fight

CARUTHERSVILLE - An knife fight put one man in the hospital and left both men facing charges.

At 9:21 p.m. Monday, Caruthersville Police were called to Morgan's Package where Curtis Smith, 57, of Caruthersville was found cut and bleeding from his neck. Smith told officers he got in an altercation with Crozet Wiley, 51, of Caruthersville.

"Further investigation revealed both subjects injured each other with a weapon," said Caruthersville City Marshal Chris Riggs in a news release.

Summons were issued for the men to appear in municipal court on a charge of assault with a weapon. Smith was transported to Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
