LILBOURN - Alphonzo "Scout" Greer. 75, died Dec. 27, 2006, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 11, 1931, in Holland, Mo., to the late Bennie and Mattie Lee Greer, he was a graduate of O'Bannon High School in New Madrid and Metropolitan State College in Denver where he earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology. He was in the United States Air Force from 1952-1961, serving as an Airman 1st Class.
He was married in 1956.
Survivors include: four sons, Alphonzo Greer Jr. of Colorado Springs, Micheal Greer of Englewood, Calif., William Edward Greer of Denver and Derrick Greer of Sun City, Calif.; three daughters, Teresa Samilton and Nina Scott of Denver and Valerie Greer of Romulus, Mich.; two brothers, Arthur Lee Greer of Desoto, Texas, and Bennie Joe Greer of North Lilbourn; eight grandchildren, two great-
grandchildren; and a special friend, Reola Edwards.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, one daughter and four sisters.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Holloway, pastor, will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid with the Williams Funeral Home of Howardville in charge of arrangements.
