DOGWOOD - Edna M. Heath, 95, died at 10:45 a.m. Dec. 28, 2006, in the Bertrand Nursing Facility.
Born Feb. 2, 1911, in the Dogwood Community, to the late Walter P. and Nettie C. Holland Maxwell, she lived all of her life in Dogwood where she was a member of the Dogwood Methodist Church and her husband farmed and owned and operated the Dogwood Store and Oil Company.
On April 22, 1932, she married Cecil D. "C.D." Heath, who preceded her in death on April 7, 1996.
Three brothers, Harland, Leland and Ray Maxwell; two sisters, Norma Hurley and Blanche Blackman; two nephews and one niece also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one sister-in-law, Ruth Ellen Maxwell of Sikeston; six nieces, Glenda Norton and Myrna Johnson of Sikeston, Jean Brooks of Carlsbad, Calif., Carolyn McHaney of Bertrand, Joycelyn Mason of Oklahoma City and Nancee Werts of St. Charles; seven nephews, Bob Maxwell and Phil Blackman of East Prairie, Bill Maxwell of Hot Springs, Ark., Ron Hurley of Germantown, Tenn., Maxie Blackman of Jackson, Tenn., Jerry Maxwell of Dogwood and Chuck Maxwell of Collierville Tenn.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. Leland Butler and Harold Norton will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her nephews: Bob Maxwell, Bill Maxwell, Jerry Maxwell, Chuck Maxwell, Ron Hurley, Maxie Blackman and Phil Blackman.
