ST. LOUIS -- The Mid America CropLife Association recently presented Kevin Mainord, MRM Ag Service of East Prairie, with the state's 2007 Extra S.T.E.P. Award.

The award, sponsored by MACA, is designed to recognize an entity that goes above and beyond the requirements of the respective 13 states. The nominee is already meeting the state and federal laws, but also taking the extra step to ensure good stewardship in their community.

Mainord received the award at the 2008 MO-AG Winter Convention and Legislative Conference, held Jan. 9 at Lake of the Ozarks.

"MACA is pleased to recognize Kevin Mainord, MRM Ag Service for their efforts in taking the Extra STEP. They are stewards who use technology and take time to educate people on their initiative to protect the environment and promote specific practices to their producers," said MACA Executive Director Bonnie McCarvel. "They know the extra time and effort are worth it because it benefits the entire community."
