ANNISTON -- Archibald Cooper, 88, died at 6:45 a.m. Jan. 11, 2007, at his home.

Born Jan. 2, 1919, at Henson, son of the late George W. and Birdie E. Bass Cooper, he lived his entire life in Mississippi County where he was a retired farmer and a member of the Anniston Christian Church.

On Feb. 6, 1941, at Benton, he married Arnebell Fleming who preceded him in death on Sept. 10, 2004.

Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Joe Cooper, Herbert Cooper, Lindell Cooper and Harrison Cooper.

Survivors include: one grandson and his wife, David Gene and Tammy Achter of East Prairie; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herschel and Fran Cooper of South Hampton, N.J., and Richard and Betty Cooper of Cady, Texas; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Elenora and Paul Vied of San Antonio and Maudest Peebles of East Prairie; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with Martin Lucas officiating.

Burial will follow in the Anniston Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: David Achter, Jimmy Hicks, Jodi Latamondeer, Johnny Delk, Donny Nance and Donny Nance Jr.
