SIKESTON - John Michael Rosenberry, a resident of Sikeston for 40 years, died at his home at 210 Northwest St. Saturday.

SIKESTON - The seventh annual Christmas concert will be given by the community choir Sunday at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church. The 47 voices are directed by Gordon Beaver and accompanied by Pam Blackman.


SIKESTON - Civic organizations, church groups or individuals who wish to provide Christmas gifts for the 25 children in foster homes in Scott County may send contributions to the Child Welfare Advisory Committee, 411 Tanner St.

SIKESTON - Approximately 80 children attended a Foster Care party held Saturday afternoon for foster children in Scott County at the Sikeston Eagles Lodge. Gifts were donated by Shady Acres Church of Christ, First United Methodist Church and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.


SIKESTON - The Sikeston High School girls ensemble, under the direction of William Grega, will provide the program for the general membership meeting of the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce, which is scheduled for noon Thursday at the Country Club.

CHAFFEE - After being highly seeded heading into the Chaffee Tournament, Sikeston got their first win of the season on Thursday night. The Lady Bulldogs played uncontested, winning 54-27 over Oran. "In the first period, we laid down a half-court trap, and they couldn't handle it," explained Sikeston coach Lee Brooks, "Laura Davidson had a bad knee, so we substituted freely."


SIKESTON - Children at the Calvary Temple Kids Korner recently participated in a fundraising event. Winners of the $10 drawing were: Ryan Fox, Zipporah Robinson, Whittney Ring and Shae Robey.
