JACKSON -- The Rev. Ellis Albert Grant, 68, died Dec. 14, 2006, at his home.
Born June 23, 1938, in Lutesville, son of the late Rev. Paul M. and Furn E. Eaker Grant, he was an ordained General Baptist minister, serving churches in Matthews, St. Charles, Jackson, Tahlequah, Okla., and Ida, Ark. He retired from the postal processing center in Cape Girardeau and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On Dec. 21, 1958, he married Ruth Ann Gould who survives.
Also surviving are: three sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Michael and Anita Grant, Stephen and Stephanie Grant and Charles and Alisha Grant of Jackson; three brothers, Earnest Elledge of Sikeston, Norman Elledge of Advance and Jerry Grant of Edwardsville, Ill.; two sisters, Margie Collins of Collinsville, Ill., and Frieda Hahn of Poplar Bluff; and five grandchildren and a great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, one brother, Daniel Grant, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday. The Revs. Norman and Earnest Elledge will officiate.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
