DEXTER -- Dorothy D. Julius, 99, died Dec. 12, 2007, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Oct. 27, 1908, in Newport, Ark., daughter of the late Mack and Minnie Riley Cochran, she had lived in Puxico and Grandin before she moved to Dexter 26 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of the Eastern Star and Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter.
On Sept. 17, 1925, she married Earl Riley, who died in 1951. She later married Samuel David Julius on May 6, 1958, in Mississippi, who preceded her in death in 1981.
Two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: four daughters, Velma Julius of Florissant, Norma Compson and Betty Smith of Phoenix and Thelma Christian of Dexter; one stepdaughter, Doris Caldwell of Caseyville, Ill.; three stepsons, David Julius of Caseyville, Orville Julius of Granite City, Ill. and Archie Julius of Florissant; one sister, Verlie Hardin of Arnold; and 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. James Hamlett of Risco will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
