SIKESTON - At the Malone Theater today, "Guest Wife" with Claudette Colbert and Don Ameche. At the Rex, "Centerville Ghost" with Charles Laughton.

SIKESTON -The electronics department of the area vocational school in Sikeston has reported encouraging results from the first two years of operation. Larry Agee, a former employee of the Highway Department, has accepted a position with General Electric Corporation. Larry has been in St. Louis for the past three weeks as a computer technician.

VANDUSER - A state of normalcy is returning to Vanduser, although the small farming town may never relive its past. "Business is starting to resume back to normal," Mayor Harold Graviett said of his town. "We're rebuilding. We're on our way." The community of 320 lost 15-20 homes and one life in the May 15 tornado. About half of the homes may have been insured.

JEFFERSON CITY - Miki Westphely of Charleston and Roger Bannister of Sikeston turned in outstanding performances Saturday at the Missouri High School Track Championships at Jefferson City. Westphely placed in the top eight of the girls 3A 1,600 and 3,200 meters while Bannister finished fifth in the boys 4A 3,200 meters.

SIKESTON - A group of 11 boys was assembled at the end of February to play basketball on the AAU team. They took the challenge seriously, and played themselves to the national AAU/USA basketball tournament in Cocoa, Florida, July 27- Aug. 3. The team is coached by Mike DeWitt and Bruce Lawrence.

SIKESTON - The 44th Annual Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo is set Aug. 7

-10, beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. Entertainers include John Anderson on Aug. 7, Clay Walker, Aug. 8, Joe Diffie, Aug. 9 and Chris Ledoux, Aug. 10.
