Woman stabbed

Sunday, December 24, 2006

SIKESTON -- A Sikeston woman has been charged by Scott County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Boyd with first degree assault and armed criminal action after she stabbed another Sikeston woman four times.

Madonna Adamson, age unavailable, of 103 Dorothy St. in Sikeston, was charged for assaulting Jessica George, age also unavailable, Thursday evening at 309 Jaycee St. in Sikeston. George was transported by South Scott County Ambulance Service to Missouri Delta Medical Center where she was treated for wounds to the head, arm, chest and shoulder. She was later released and MDMC staff said none of the wounds were serious in nature, according to a news release from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

After a search of the area, the suspect, Adamson, was located at 210 Murray Lane and taken into custody without incident. The knife allegedly used in the altercation was also recovered at that resident, where Adamson was arrested.

George said the fight was over some clothing items that were at the residence where the assault occurred, the news release said.

As of Saturday morning, Adamson was under $75,000 bond and at DPS awaiting transfer to the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
