LILBOURN - Chester B. Anderson was born Jan. 13, 1928, in Marion, Ark., son of the late Walter and Janie (Morgan) Anderson.
Chester was a very dedicated, loyal and loving person. During his younger life, he served his country in the United States Army; he was a sharp shooter during the Korean War. He was a foreman for Gomz Farm for over 25 years in South Bend, Ind. and in Baraboo, Wis. He retired and moved to Lilbourn, Mo. in 1989.
Chester loved all his children; he departed his life on Monday, Oct. 30, 2006. at the age of 78 years.
His memory will be cherished by his sister, Ms. Ollie Morales of Columbia, Md.; his daughters, Emma Chambliss of Omaha, Neb., Marilyn (Michael) Love, Darlene (Calvin) Carter and Veronica Taylor of South Bend, Ind., Ramona Randolph, Dorothy (Tyrone) Perkins of Howardville, Mo., Christa (Darryl) Hill of Virginia Beach, Va., Arlene (Damont) Banks of Huntsville, Ala., Every Strong of Gary, Ind., Patricia Payne and Florence Payne of Champagne, Ill.; and his sons, Richard Williams of Lilbourn, Mo., Larry McCoy and Robert Buxton of Gary, Ind.; and his niece and nephew, Margaret and Ricardo Langford of Columbia, Md.; and special friend, Ms. Gloria McClinton of Lilbourn; he was blessed with 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Esteena Anderson; and one son, Keith Thomas.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 5, from noon until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn. Reginald Grant will officiate.
Internment service will be held Monday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
