Sikeston eighth graders fall to Cape Central

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Sikeston 8th grade football team finished its season with a loss to Cape Central on Thursday in Cape Girardeau.

Sikeston lost to the Tigers 30-14 to finish its season at 3-3.

Sikeston's Jerry Andrews scored the first touchdown for the Bulldogs on a 10-

yard run.

Sam Erwin later added a 45-yard run on a quarterback sneak. Darryl Howard ran in the two-point conversion.

"I'm proud of this team," said Sikeston junior high coach Steve Bays. "We had good numbers and the kids worked hard and improved all season. I think we have a good foundation that we can build on for next year."
