MINER - Terry C. Conn of Webco Management Company Inc. has announced construction of phase one of Broadmere, a 64-unit luxury retirement facility in Miner. The facility will serve as a residential alternative for Missouri's high percentage of retirees over the age of 60.
SIKESTON - David O'Neal, manager of Huck's Convenience Store, 530 S. Main St., told Sikeston Department of Public Safety authorities Wednesday that 2,000 Missouri lottery tickets were stolen from the business sometime between 3 p.m. on Tuesday and 8:14 a.m. on Wednesday. The lottery tickets have been declared void and cannot be redeemed.
BENTON - Scott County Commissioners have begun the yearly chore of analyzing the county's budget and setting the spending limit for each office. One concern commissioners have is Sheriff Bill Ferrell's budget. The sheriff is requesting $200,000 more this year over last year's budgeted figure.
