Joe Preyer

PORTAGEVILLE -- Joe Willie Preyer, 53, died Jan. 15, 2007, in Lilbourn.

Born Feb. 12, 1953, in Millington, Tenn., son of Hattie Jefferson Preyer of Portageville and the late Wallace Preyer, he was employed at the Missouri State Highway Department where he worked for the past 29 years.

One brother, Johnny Jefferson, also preceded him in death.

In addition to his mother, survivors include: one son, Ryan Fountain of New Madrid; one daughter, Mattie Preyer of Portageville; five brothers, Melvin Preyer and Curtis Preyer of Portageville, Ronnie Preyer of Cape Girardeau, Everett Preyer of St. Louis and David Preyer of Columbia; two sisters, Regina Jefferson of Cape Girardeau and Debra Preyer of Portageville; and a special friend, Agusta Allen of Lilbourn.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Kirk Dunnavant will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
